.Open Outlook to its main window. 2.Choose Email Accounts in the Tools menu. 3.Select the Add a new Email Account option button in the Email Accounts dialog box, and then click Next. The Internet Email Settings (IMAP) page displays another set of option buttons.
.Select IMAP in the Internet Email Settings dialog box, and then click Next. 5.Enter the appropriate values as follows: oYour Name—Your name as you want it to appear in email message headers. oEmail Address—Your reply-to email address. Outlook requires you to enter a value in its Email Address field to save the IMAP account. However, the value does not have to reference a valid email address unless you plan to send email from the account. Contact your administrator with any questions.
oUser Name—Your TeamConnect username. oPassword—Your TeamConnect password. oIncoming mail server (IMAP)—The IP address number or the name of TeamConnect's host machine (for example, 10.2.1.15 as an IP address). oOutgoing mail server (SMTP)—The name of your SMTP server. If you have no SMTP server, enter some text as a placeholder, for example, general. Outlook requires you to make an entry its this field to save the IMAP account, but the value does not have to reference a valid SMTP server unless you plan to send email from this account.
.Select the Remember password check-box only. 7.Click More Settings. An additional Internet Email Settings dialog box appears, showing several tabs.
.Replace the IP address in the Email Account field in the General tab with an alternative, more meaningful name for your IMAP account, for example, TC IMAP. Other entries in this tab are optional. 9.If your administrator set up the TeamConnect IMAP server to use a specific port, select the Advanced tab, and then enter the port number in the Incoming Server (IMAP) field. Other entries in this tab are optional. This port number must match the port number entered for email by your administrator. Make sure your administrator provides the correct number for this field. If this number is incorrect, Outlook is unable to find TeamConnect's email inbox.
.Click OK to close the current Internet Email Settings dialog box and save its settings. 11.Click Next, and then click Finish when you are done. A folder with the name of your IMAP server appears in the Mail (left) pane. If you did not enter an alternative name in Outlook's email account field, the folder name is the IP address number.
